| The FCE objectifies the functional capabilities of the injured employee in order to determine feasibility of return to work, occupational disability, and/or if additional rehabilitation is needed. This evaluation also differentiates between organic problems vs. non-organic illness behaviors such as malingering or symptom magnification. This comprehensive examination system provides objective means by which to classify the extent of functional restoration the injured employee has achieved. This data can then be used to effectively place the employee in an appropriate return to work or modified duty position. |
