All of Omega's Ergonomic Assessment products outlined below are rooted in sound ergonomic practice. Ergonomic Risks are identified and quantified based on several models of industrial ergonomic assessment including, but not limited to OSHA strategies, NIOSH, ANSI, Snook, Rehabilitative medicine, Biomechanics, and Anthropometry. Engineering, Work Practice, as well as Administrative risk abatement strategies are considered throughout each and every evaluation. Those strategies which are deemed to be the most effective, both from an employee wellness perspective as well as a cost perspective, are reported. The following Ergonomic Evaluation Tools all include measurements (length, height, weight, etc.), photographs, and/or video analysis when appropriate. Global Report and Evaluation - This is the most comprehensive report for your company. Ergonomic Risk Data is collected by individual employee interviews through entire departments or work areas. The report generated identifies details of the work being done, potential ergonomic risk factors, solutions to ergonomic risk factors, and organizational/cultural factors that may contribute to worker/manager compliance, productivity, and injury risk. This report offers a blueprint by which you can make future decisions on capital improvements in your company when it comes to engineering modifications and program development plans. "The Road Map™" - This evaluation
and reporting format focuses on each department, rather than on each employee.
It provides an overview of what the workers are doing and the potential
risk factors and their respective solutions that may contribute to lost-time
days. The equipment modifications can be prioritized on any parameter
or group of parameters (level of risk, cost of implementation, long and
short term solutions, etc.). This format assists your company in prioritizing
future purchases. "Ergo Walkthrough" - No formal written report is generated for the Ergo Walkthrough. This type of evaluation is used primarily to familiarize our ergonomic trainers as to the details of worksites, types of work being performed and how to best convey the appropriate ergonomic principles in the training sessions that will occur at your company. Individual Risk Assessment - This individual evaluation of a worker and their workstation provides an in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis of the work being done and potential risk factors with matching solutions. The report dissects each individual ergonomic risk factor based on its category (repetitive motion, static exertion, forceful exertion, awkward posture, heat, cold, vibration) and reports these risk factors in an OSHA-approved format. This evaluation is particularly useful for either medico-legal situations where defensible observations of a particular work station/area/employee are necessary. It is also useful for problem work environments/areas, especially in multi-user stations, where clear strategies for ergonomic risk abatement by tool/station/system re-engineering and redesign are necessary. "Ergo Lifeguard™" - This tool is designed to be used when a group of workers in a specific location already use ergonomically adjustable equipment, but may need periodic ongoing assistance in complying with specific applicable ergonomic principles. It may also be used when your employees need brief, onsite refresher training on how to properly use equipment, adjust work station components, perform ergonomic exercises, and/or use micro-breaks to their greatest benefit. The evaluation procedure simply involves onsite and continued (two to three periods of two to three hours depending on the size of the location) presence on location by an ergonomic specialist. The specialist patrols the location assisting employees when necessary, answering questions of staff and management, and acting as a conduit for the messages that your ergonomics program espouse. The reporting format for the "Ergo Lifeguard™" does not include pictures, but rather a brief description of the principles reviewed with the employee as well as possible further modifications of the work station that may assist the worker. This technique has been extraordinarily effective in areas where ergonomic issues have been prevalent especially if new equipment has been provided. "Fresh Start™"- This ergonomic evaluation protocol allows your company to start its ergonomics program fresh. Any existing worker's compensation claims, employee complaints, department requests, or other internal request mechanisms are addressed immediately within the confines of your ergonomic goals and any of the above evaluation protocols. This allows your company to start "fresh" in designing and developing its ergonomics program. |
